Terms of use
These terms apply when you use Screenshotfiles, as a guest, with a free account or with Pro. Please read the sections on withdrawal and refunds before you start a paid subscription. How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy policy.
Who you are contracting with
Jueminel VOF, trading as Screenshotfiles
Vriezerweg 15A
9482 TA Tynaarlo
Netherlands
Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 42010375
VAT identification number: NL869272810B01
Email: support@screenshotfiles.com
In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Jueminel VOF. "You" means the person or organisation using the service. A "consumer" is a person who uses Screenshotfiles for purposes outside their trade, business or profession.
Who may use Screenshotfiles
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or start Pro. If you use Screenshotfiles on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you may bind it to these terms, and the section for business customers below applies as well.
Free use
- Guests can store up to 5 screenshots or 10 MB in the cloud for 7 days without creating an account.
- A verified free account can store up to 25 screenshots or 100 MB for 30 days, use up to 10 collections, and open the library on other devices.
- Screenshots kept only on your device are not limited by these numbers, but they are stored in your browser and are lost if you clear its data.
- Free use comes without a commitment from either side. We may reduce abusive usage, temporarily stop free uploads when the shared free storage budget is full, or change the free limits with at least 30 days' notice to account holders by email.
Pro
Pro costs EUR 3.99 per month, including VAT. The price you see is the price you pay. Any VAT that applies in your country is already contained in that amount and is shown separately on your invoice.
If a yearly plan is offered, its price, including VAT, is shown before you pay, and the same trial, withdrawal right and cancellation rules apply.
- Up to 2,000 screenshots and 2 GB of cloud storage, kept for as long as Pro is active, and up to 200 collections.
- Quick Share, and share links with a password, an expiry date or view-once access.
- Screen recordings synchronized to the cloud, shared by link and cut into clips.
- Text recognition and search, automatic names and tags, beautified screenshots, and Slack and webhook integrations.
- The privacy editor and the encrypted local vault are available on every plan.
We describe Pro as it is today. If we change a Pro feature to your disadvantage, the section on changes below applies.
Billing
Eligible verified accounts can start Pro with one 7-day free trial per account and payment method. A payment method is required before the trial begins, but the amount due at checkout is EUR 0. Pro starts immediately when the trial begins. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the first EUR 3.99 monthly payment is charged automatically after day 7, and the subscription then renews every month until you cancel. We email you a reminder two days before the first payment.
A yearly subscription, where one is offered, is charged once a year instead of every month and renews every year until you cancel. Besides the reminder before the first payment, we email you a reminder 14 days before every yearly renewal, so you can cancel before you are charged again.
You can cancel at any time from your account or the Stripe Customer Portal, in the same online way you subscribed. If you cancel during the trial you pay nothing, and Pro stays available until the trial ends. If you cancel after a paid month has started, the cancellation takes effect at the end of that month and nothing more is charged. Payments are processed by Stripe, and your bank or card statement will show SCREENSHOTFILES.
Permanently deleting your account cancels an active Pro subscription immediately and ends any remaining paid or trial time. Download anything you want to keep before confirming deletion.
Your right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, without giving any reason, and that includes the Pro subscription. The 14 days start on the day you start Pro, which is the day the contract is concluded. We go further: you may also withdraw within 14 days of your first payment, even if that falls later.
How to withdraw. Use the button Withdraw from contract here in your account, or go to screenshotfiles.com/withdraw. You confirm in two steps and we email you a confirmation straight away, stating when your withdrawal reached us. You can also send us a clear statement by email or by post, for example with the model form at the end of these terms, but you do not have to use it. The withdrawal is in time if you send it before the period ends.
What happens then. The subscription ends immediately and your account returns to the free plan. We refund every payment you made for it in full, including for the days you already used Pro, without delay and at the latest within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, to the payment method you used, at no cost to you. Under the law we could charge for the part of the service you used before withdrawing, because Pro starts at your request as soon as you subscribe. We choose not to.
Refund policy
- During the free trial. Cancel or withdraw before day 7 and you are never charged. There is nothing to refund.
- Within 14 days of starting Pro or of your first payment. Withdraw as described above and every payment is refunded in full, no reason needed, even if you used the service.
- After that. Cancelling stops the next renewal. The month already running is not refunded, because Pro stays available to you until the end of it.
- Charged after you cancelled, or charged twice. Refunded in full, always. Tell us and we fix it.
- If we cannot deliver. If a fault on our side makes Pro unusable for a meaningful stretch and we cannot resolve it, we refund the affected period pro rata.
Send refund requests to support@screenshotfiles.com. We reply within 14 days and pay refunds back to the original payment method, through Stripe, at no cost to you.
Price changes
If we change the price of Pro, we tell existing subscribers by email at least 30 days before the new price applies to them. You can cancel before it takes effect, and a new price never applies to a period you already paid for.
What you may not do
You are responsible for what you upload and share. Do not use Screenshotfiles to store or share:
- child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities;
- content that is illegal where you are or in the Netherlands, such as terrorist content, incitement to violence or hatred, threats, or material that infringes someone's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- personal data of other people that you have no right to share, including intimate images shared without consent and other people's login details, financial data or identity documents;
- malware, phishing pages or anything designed to deceive the person who opens a link.
Do not try to get around limits, probe other users' files, overload the service or automate abusive traffic. Anyone who has a share link can open it, so think before you share something sensitive.
How we deal with content and reports
We do not look through your screenshots and we do not scan them automatically. We act on content when we receive a report or an order from an authority, or when we notice abuse of the service itself, such as automated traffic.
Reporting. Anyone can report a share link they believe contains illegal content through Report this content at the bottom of every share page. We confirm receipt if you leave an email address, and tell you what we decided.
Deciding. A person reviews every report, diligently and without bias. If we conclude that content is illegal or breaks these terms, we may disable the share link, remove the content, or, for serious or repeated breaches, suspend or close the account. We choose the lightest measure that ends the problem. If content gives us reason to suspect a crime that threatens someone's life or safety, we inform the police without delay, as the law requires.
Telling you. If we restrict your content or account, we email you a statement of reasons: what we did, why, on which facts, which rule or law applies, and how you can challenge it. We do this unless the law forbids it or the content is a deceptive, high-volume commercial message.
Challenging a decision. Reply to that email, or write to support@screenshotfiles.com, within 6 months. Someone who was not involved in the first decision will review it. You may also go to court at any time.
Points of contact. Under the Digital Services Act, our single point of contact for users, authorities in the EU Member States, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services is support@screenshotfiles.com. We accept messages in English and Dutch.
Your content stays yours
You keep every right in the screenshots and files you upload. We claim no ownership of them and we do not use them to train anything. You give us permission to do only what running the service for you requires: storing them, converting them, showing them to you, and serving the share links you create to the people you share them with. That permission ends when you delete the file or your account, except for copies we must keep because the law or an authority requires it.
Availability and backups
We work to keep Screenshotfiles reliable and secure, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may briefly interrupt it for maintenance. Cloud copies are not a backup of your own files: keep your own copy of screenshots that matter to you.
Liability
If you are a consumer, we are liable under Dutch law for damage we cause, and nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. That includes our liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and for death or personal injury.
If you are a business customer, our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost profit, or loss of data that you could have prevented by keeping your own copy. These limits do not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.
Ending the agreement
- You can stop using Screenshotfiles and delete your account at any time from the Account screen.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, as described under How we deal with content and reports, and we tell you why.
- If we ever stop offering Screenshotfiles, we tell account holders by email at least 60 days in advance so you can download your library, and we refund any Pro period you paid for but can no longer use.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms when the service or the law changes. If a change matters for you, we email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect and explain what changes. If you do not agree, you can delete your account, and if you have Pro you can end it before the change applies and get back what you paid for the time after that date. Changes required by law or by an authority may take effect sooner. The date at the top shows the current version.
Business customers
If you use Screenshotfiles for a business, the rules that protect consumers, including the right of withdrawal, do not apply to you, and the business limits on liability above do. When your screenshots contain personal data of other people, we process that data as your processor, and a data processing agreement under article 28 GDPR is available on request. If you give us a VAT number at checkout, VAT may be reverse charged, and you are responsible for accounting for it.
Complaints, applicable law and disputes
If something is wrong, email support@screenshotfiles.com first. We answer complaints within 14 days. If we need longer to investigate, we say so and give you an expected date.
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another country, that choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your own country.
Disputes we cannot resolve together may be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and we will only sue you in the courts of your own country. Consumers with a cross-border complaint within the EU can get free help from the European Consumer Centre network, in the Netherlands at eccnederland.nl.
