A screenshot organizer that runs in your browser

Screenshot Files turns the folder full of Screenshot 2026-07-25 at 14.32.11.png into something you can actually search. Paste a screenshot, and it is named, stored and ready to share. There is nothing to install and you can start without an account.

What it does

Press Ctrl and V anywhere on the page and your screenshot appears in the library. It is encrypted on your own device first, and only synchronized to the cloud when you ask for it. You can crop it, draw on it, blur out the parts that should not be seen, and copy it straight back to your clipboard.

When you need to send it to someone, you get a link instead of a 4 MB attachment. Pro links can carry a password, expire after a day, or stop working once they have been opened.

Three things people use it for

Keeping bug reports together

Developers and testers collect screenshots faster than they can name them. Automatic naming and tags mean the screenshot you took on Tuesday is still findable on Friday, and a share link drops straight into an issue tracker.

Sending a screenshot without email

Email attachments get compressed, rotated, and lost in threads. A share link stays sharp, works on any device, and can be revoked when the conversation is over. See how to share a screenshot with a password and an expiry date.

Finding a screenshot by what it says

Text recognition runs in your browser, so the words inside an image become searchable without the image ever going to an external service. Search for the error message and the screenshot comes back. See how to find a screenshot by the text inside it.

Why not just a folder

A folder cannot search inside an image, cannot share one link safely, and cannot follow you to another device. Screenshot Files keeps the local copy you already trust, encrypted in your own browser, and adds the parts a folder was never going to do.

It does not take the folder away from you either. In Chrome and Edge you can point it at a folder on your own disk and have every screenshot written straight into it, named readably, with no account and no upload.

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Guests can keep 5 screenshots and 10 MB for 7 days. A free account raises that to 25 screenshots and 100 MB for 30 days, and works across devices with the same email address.

Where are my screenshots stored?

New screenshots are encrypted on your device before anything is sent anywhere. Cloud copies are converted to WebP and stored in Cloudflare R2. Images are only served through short-lived signed links, never through a permanent public address.

What does Pro cost?

EUR 3.99 per month including VAT, with a 7-day free trial. It raises the limits to 2,000 screenshots and 2 GB and adds Quick Share, protected links, text search, and integrations. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the paid period ends.
